Аннотация: Nitration of mono-, di-, and trichlorobiphenyls has been studied. The nitration degree depends on the number of chlorine substituents; one to four nitro groups can be introduced. The conclusions have been confirmed by results of nitration of the "Trikhlorbifenil" technical mixture of polychlorinated biphenyls.

Content of the congeners in the mixture has been determined using the internal reference method. Аннотация: The acylative kinetic resolution of racemic heterocyclic amines such as 3,4-dihydro-3-methyl-2H-[1,4]benzoxazines, 3,4-dihydro-3-methyl-2H-[1,4]benzothiazine, 2-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-quinolines and 2-methylindoline with enantiopure (R)-2-phenoxypropionyl chloride has been studied. It has been found that acylation of 3,4-dihydro-3-methyl-2H-[1,4]benzothiazine proceeds with the best stereoselectively when compared with other racemic amines. An efficient method for the preparation of (S)-3,4-dihydro-3-methyl-2H-[1,4]benzothiazine (99.4% ee) via a kinetic resolution protocol was developed. The possibility of recycling (R)-2-phenoxypropionic acid has been demonstrated.

Аннотация: A facile two-step synthetic approach to fluorinated and non-fluorinated 5-aryl-4-(5-nitrofuran-2-yl)-pyrimidines from readily available 5-bromo-4-(furan-2-yl)pyrimidine has been developed. All synthesized compounds were screened in vitro for their antibacterial activities against twelve various bacterial strains. It is demonstrated that some of these compounds exhibited significant antibacterial activities against strains Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Staphylococcus aureus, comparable and even higher with that commercial drug Spectinomycin.

Аннотация: The interaction of 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorobenzene, 2,4,5-trichlorobiphenyl, 2,5,4′-trichlorobiphenyl, a mixture of 1,2,3- and 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, and industrial mixtures of polychlorinated biphenyls with potassium persulfate in the presence of potassium perfluorobutyrate has been investigated. The oxidation of highly chlorinated benzenes and biphenyls proceeds with lower conversion than that of the low-chlorinated compounds. The oxidation of the highly chlorinated aromatic substrates is not selective; the reaction mixture contains products of several competitive reactions: addition and elimination of radical species, disproportionation, isomerization, etc. The structures of the products have been determined by means of gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection

Аннотация: The pyrolysis of polyethylene and polypropylene in vacuum residue and coal-tar pitch solvents was studied in a batch reactor at atmospheric pressure in a temperature range of 380-420 °C. Aliphatic hydrocarbons and C 5-C32 normal olefins and isoolefins were the main pyrolysis products of the polyolefins and vacuum residue, which also underwent thermal degradation at these temperatures. The total conversion of a polypropylene-vacuum residue mixture into gaseous and distillate products was nearly additive; upon the pyrolysis of polypropylene in pitch and of polyethylene in vacuum residue and pitch, the yield of distillate products decreased and the paraffin/olefin ratio in these products increased. The observed regularities were explained by hydrogen transfer from the solvents to the intermediate radical products of the thermal decomposition of polymer chains. The reactions of the resulting of olefins with the solvents can also occur to a lesser degree. The greatest deviations from additivity were observed in the pyrolysis of polyethylene in the solvents used
