Аннотация: Highly electrophilic 5-azido-1-methyl-4-nitro-1H-imidazole and sulfonyl azides were demonstrated to react with alicyclic amines and cyclic ketones in the absence of any catalyst or additive to afford novel N-(4-nitroimidazol-5-yl)- or N-sulfonylamidines respectively. Based on single crystal X-ray analysis, a revision of the previously reported data of Gao and co-workers on the direction of the reaction of sulfonyl azides with endocyclic enamines was made. The reaction of 2,6-diazidopyridine with an enamine, 4-(cyclohex-1-en-l-yl)morpholine, proceeded with cyclization of the azide moiety onto the pyridine C=N bond to form an amidine bearing the tetrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine fragment.

Аннотация: Reaction of N-alkylated imidazoles with 2-chloro-4-quinazolinone gave mesomeric betaines, 2-(1-alkyl-1H-imidazolium-3-yl)quinazolin-4-olates, for which three tautomeric forms of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) can be formulated, in addition to an anionic NHC after deprotonation. The NHC tautomers were trapped with sulfur, selenium, triethylborane, and triphenylborane as thiones, selenones and borane adducts, respectively. We obtained two isomers of the cyclic borane adducts, diazaboroloquinazolinones with [1,5-a] and [5,1-b]-type fusion between the quinazolinone and the diazaborole rings. They correspond to two different NHC tautomers and to the anionic NHC derived thereof. The third NHC tautomer was trapped as a non-cyclic adduct with tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane by coordination to the quinazoline oxygen atom. 2D 1H-15N HMBC experiments of 15N-labeled quinazolinone fragments, quantitative measurements of long-range 1H-15N coupling constants (JHN), and five X-ray single crystal analyses have been carried out for the structure elucidations and to gain insight into the NMR spectroscopic properties of these compounds.

Аннотация: The CuII ion in the title complex, [Cu(C5H 10NO3)2] or [Cu(He-ala)2] [He-ala = W-(2-hydroxyethyl)-?-alaninate], resides at the inversion centre of a square bipyramid comprised of two facially arranged tridentate He-ala ligands. Each He-ala ligand binds to a CuII ion by forming one six-membered ?-alaninate chelate ring in a twist conformation and one five-membered ethanolamine ring in an envelope conformation, with Cu-N = 2.017 (2) A, Cu-OCoo = 1.968 (1) A and Cu-OOH = 2.473 (2) A. The [Cu(He-ala)2] molecules are involved in a network of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101?) plane. The layers are connected into a three-dimensional structure by van der Waals interactions, so that the molecular centres form pseudo-face-centered close packing. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography????

Аннотация: Iodocyclization products of 2-allylthioquinoline are obtained in the form of polyiodides with different stoichiometric compositions. X-ray crystallography data are analyzed for two different crystal structures of 1-iodomethyl-1,2- dihydro[1,3]thiazolo[3,2-a]quinolinium polyiodides: triiodide C 12H11INS+I 3 - and complex polyiodide 2(C12H11INS+I 3 -)·I2. A comparison is made of the nonbonding interactions of dihydrothiazoloquinolinium with atoms of the triiodide anion and complex polyiodide to show the crystal structure features attributed to the participation of molecular iodine.

Аннотация: N-(2-Pyridylmethyl)iminodipropionic (I) and N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-3-aminopropionic acids (II) were obtained. A reaction of acid I with a Cu(II) salt gave a 2: 2 complex (III); a reaction of acid II with a Ni(II) salt yielded a 1 : 2 complex (IV). The crystal structures of these complexes were determined by X-ray diffraction. The abilities of compounds I and II to form complexes were compared with the literature data for other ligands containing the N-(2-pyridylmethyl)amino fragment. The structural features of the chelate complexes with 2-aminomethylpyridine derivatives were revealed, depending on the other substituents and the metal center
