Аннотация: A large laboratory scale (ca. 40 g) method for the preparation of enantiomerically pure (S)- and (R)-valine tert-butyl esters has been developed. The method involves three steps: preparation of N-TFA-valines, preparation of valine tert-butyl esters using 2-methylpropene in dioxane in the presence of sulfuric acid, and isolation of the target compounds as the acetate derivative. The overall yield is up to 70% relative to the starting valine, ee being more than 98% (by HPLC)????

Аннотация: General method for preparation of high yields of novel N-protected carborane amino acid derivatives, 3-acylamino-1-carboxymethyl-2-R-o-carboranes (R = H, Me, Ph), is reported. The synthesis starts from readily available 3-amino-o-carboranes and includes the protection of amino group, introduction of carboxymethyl function to the carbon atom of polyhedron via the metallation of carborane CH bond with sodium amide in liquid ammonia, and treatment of corresponding sodium carboranes with sodium bromoacetate. Deprotection of N-acylated carborane amino acids is studied in acidic media. Depending on the procedure employed, closo- or nido-carborane amino acids were obtained

Аннотация: The synthesis of substituted terpyridines via triazine intermediates is described. The intermediates allow the facile introduction of cyano groups, which are converted into amino diacetic acid moieties. Together with the terpyridine nitrogen atoms they shield coordinated europium(III) ions completely from the solvent. The terpyridines may be further functionalized for specific applications using ligands, bromo substituents, and standard transition metal mediated coupling methods. This makes the title compounds valuable intermediates for the preparation of luminescent probes in biochemistry, medicinal diagnostics or materials science.

Аннотация: The ‘triazine’ methodology for the synthesis of functionalised bipyridine ligands proved to be a convenient method for the preparation of luminescent Eu(III) complexes. The approach allows flexible construction of chromophore and coordination sphere with control of photophysical properties. Europium (III) complexes [Eu1]-[Eu5] prepared in this way exhibit intense long-life metal-centered luminescence in aqueous media. The aromatic substituent in the position 5 of bipyridine has a significant influence on luminescence parameters and is used to introduce functionality for bioconjugation. Аннотация: The effect of nanosized copper and aluminum oxides, which have a higher sorption capacity than that of bulk samples, on the Hantzsch reaction was studied. The adsorption of starting benzaldehydes and ethyl acetoacetate on the surface of copper and aluminum nanooxides resulted in the activation of these molecules and accelerated the Hantzsch reaction. In addition, considerable activation of ammonia and intermediates (chalcone and enamine) on the surface of aluminum nanooxide facilitated an increase in the rate and selectivity of the process. Аннотация: An efficient one-pot method for the preparation of 2-nitro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzene containing sulfides from 1,1?-disulfanediylbis[2-nitro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzene] is proposed. The corresponding enantiomerically enriched sulfoxides with up to 78% enantiomeric excess are prepared by the asymmetric oxidation of sulfides using a modified Sharpless method. The yield of sulfoxides is shown to decrease with an increase in the bulk of the aliphatic group and with a decrease of the inductive effect of the hydrocarbonic moiety on the sulfur atom.????Supplemental materials are available for this article.
