Аннотация: We present the results of an experimental study of the dynamics of thermal self-oscillations of a normal zone in thin films of high-temperature superconductors (HTSC) connected to an external circuit with an inductance and cooled by boiling nitrogen. The response of the system to a harmonic driving force has been studied. Spectral and dynamical characteristics of various oscillative regimes have been determined. It is shown there arises a state of a deterministic chaos in some range of driving frequencies and amplitudes. An effective of synchronization of periodic self-oscillations of a normal zone and thermo-hydrodynamical oscillations caused by the boiling of liquid nitrogen near a film surface has been recognized

Аннотация: Absorption of ethane molecules by water clusters containing 10–20 molecules is studied by the molecular dynamics method. The (H2O) n (I), C2H6(H2O) n (II), and (C2H6)2(H2O) n (III) cluster systems are composed on the basis of specific statistical weights. Spectral characteristics of system and single clusters are determined in the frequency range of 0 меньше либо равно омега меньше либо равно 1000 cm в степени -1. In this frequency range, both real and imaginary parts of dielectric permittivity decrease monotonically after the absorption of C2H6 molecules by an aqueous ultradispersed system. Integral coefficient of IR absorption increases, while average (over frequency) reflection coefficient decreases after the absorption of ethane molecules. The intensity of IR scattering by the systems of clusters containing C2H6 molecules lowers. Maximal values of radiation power for water clusters with various sizes are balanced with the capture of ethane molecules by the clusters, whereas oscillations in the size dependence of the density of electrons that are active with respect to IR radiation decrease.

Nucleus growth is accompanied by self-sustained aperiodic temperature oscillations. The radial distribution function is computed and Voronoi polyhedra are constructed for the system immediately before and after the transition. Аннотация: We present the results of experimental study of an intensive source of wide-band 1/f noise whose generation appears in a system of two interacting nonequilibrium phase transitions. Such a process has been realized in the region of superposition of a superconductor-normal conductor phase transition on a liquid-vapor crisis transition in a boiling cooler. A mathematical model describing phase transitions in a dynamical system with two interacting order parameters, converting "white" noise into two stationary stochastic processes with 1/f and 1/f(2) spectra has been suggested. The properties of model oscillations with 1/f spectrum are qualitatively adequate to those observed in experiment. The characteristic difference of model oscillations with a 1/f(2) spectrum from classic random walks has also been noted

Аннотация: A series of tests have been carried out with a miniature loop heat pipe (mLHP), which has been developed for consumer electronics cooling, for horizontal and four vertical orientations under different sink temperatures. The mLHP has a cylindrical evaporator of 5 mm outer diameter and 29 mm length. The steady-state operating characteristics are similar for different orientations except for the orientation where the evaporator is above the compensation chamber. At an evaporator temperature of 75 °C, an evaporator heat load up to 70 W can be reached with thermal resistance of about 0.2 °C/W. The transient behavior of the mLHP is studied in detail. In general, the mLHP can be started up with very low power input (5 W). Big temperature oscillations in the liquid line were found in many cases, however, the temperature oscillations in the evaporator are minimum. The orientations greatly influence the operating characteristics of the mLHP. At least for the horizontal orientation, the overall performance of the tested mLHP is satisfying

Аннотация: This study deals with the decrease in the levitation force under the action of an ac field up to the frequency at which oscillations of the superconducting suspension are limited by inertia. The lifting force was measured as a function of the ac field amplitude and the exposure time. It was shown that the force quickly decreased at the moment the ac field was applied and then continued diminishing, but at a lower rate. A qualitative model was proposed, taking into account two effects of the ac field on the magnetization of the levitating superconductor: a complete destruction of the critical state in some section of the superconductor (to a depth λac) and the initiation of a faster magnetic relaxation in the region where the induction gradient is preserved

Аннотация: An algorithm is developed using the finite-element method for calculating the temperature field in a bounded domain allowing for the finite rate of propagation of heat during pulsed surface heating.
