Аннотация: Spin–lattice relaxation rates of 1H and 2D nuclei in Hf2CoH1.2 and Hf2CoD1.3 compounds with a structure of the Ti2Ni type have been measured in the temperature range of 80–424 K. The experimental data indicate the coexistence of at least two types of jumplike motion of H (D) atoms with different characteristic frequencies. A neutron-diffraction study of the structure of the Hf2CoD1.3 compound showed that the deuterium atoms in this compound occupy octahedral positions 16c and 8a, as well as tetrahedral positions 32e1 and 96g2. An analysis of the sublattice of positions partially filled with H (D) atoms makes it possible to qualitatively explain the difference in the behavior of the jumplike motion of hydrogen in Hf2CoHx(Dx) from the corresponding behavior in the related system Ti2CoHx(Dx)

Аннотация: The equilibrium oxygen content of YBa2Cu3_ xCoxO6 + 8 (0.2 < x < 0.8) solid solutions was determined by coulometric titration at temperatures in the range 600-850~ and oxygen pressures 1 < Po2 < 105 Pa. The partial enthalpy and entropy of oxygen dissolution were evaluated as a function of composition. The thermodynamic functions were found to change sharply near the high- and low-oxygen limits of the solid solution. The results are interpreted in terms of a quasi-chemical model considering three inequivalent oxygen sites in the basal plane

Аннотация: The effect of disorder induced by neutron irradiation in a nuclear reactor (thermal neutron fluence 1x 10(19) cm–2) on the superconducting transition temperature Tc and the upper critical field Hc2 of polycrystalline MgB2 samples was investigated. Despite the appreciable radiation-induced distortions (more than ten displacements per atom), the initial crystal structure (C32) was retained. The temperature Tc decreased from 38 to 5 K upon irradiation and was practically completely restored after the subsequent annealing at a temperature of 700°C. A weak change in the dHc2/dT derivative upon irradiation is explained by the fact that the irradiated samples are described by the “pure” limit of the theory of disordered superconductors. The suppression of Tc upon disordering may be due to the isotropization of the originally anisotropic (or multicomponent) superconducting gap or to a decrease in the density of electronic states at the Fermi level

Аннотация: The crystal structure of YBa2Cu3-xCox06+delta solid solutions, where x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8, was studied by powder neutron diffraction. The charged states of the cations were calculated using the interatomic distances obtained in neutron diffraction measurements. It is shown that cobalt in the Cul position has valence 3+ and octahedral environment for x = 0.2 and 0.4. As x increases, the valence of some cobalt ions in the above positions changes to 4+, the environment changes to tetrahedral, and copper in the Cu2 position is partly substituted. Cobalt in the Cu2 positions has valence 2+ and does not change the square pyramidal arrangement of oxygen ions surrounding this position
