Аннотация: A new series of promising luminescent materials, cyclosilicates Sr3R2(Si3O9)2, R=Y, Eu–Lu, has been synthesized via a solid-state reaction. X-ray and neutron powder diffraction studies show that these oxides crystallize in the monoclinic crystal system (S.G. C2/c, Z=4) and have a morphotropic phase transition between Er and Tm compounds followed by a step-like change of the unit cell constants. Isolated [Si3O9] rings located in layers are basic building units and stack with Sr/R layers along the [1 0 ] direction. The rare earth atoms are distributed among three independent Sr/R sites coordinated by 8, 7 and 6 oxygen atoms, and the Sr-R populations change from mixed to 0.5/0.5 over site (1) and full occupation of sites (2) and (3) by Sr and R, respectively, at the transition. Changes of the conformation and mutual arrangement of [Si3O9] rings, as well as exchange of oxygen atoms from the first and the second coordination sphere of two Sr/R sites also feature the phase transition. Luminescence in Sr3Y2(Si3O9)2:Eu3+ under ultraviolet (UV) excitation has been discussed

Аннотация: Composite magnetic powders EuO/Fe(Co) were synthesized. These composites are candidates for use as materials for spintronics devices operating at room temperature. The composites synthesized by carbothermal reduction of oxide mixtures Eu2O3 and Fe2O3(or Co3O4) contain not only europium in the main valence state (2+) but also europium in the state 3+, its content increasing with the content of the d metal and depending on technological parameters of the reduction process. The content of the trivalent europium in the composites was estimated by chemical analysis and L111-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). The results obtained by these methods correlate with each other. XAS is considered to be a quantitative express method of certification of materials containing europium in various valence states

Аннотация: The states of iron and europium in the EuO:Fe composite spintronic material have been studied by means of room-temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy. In both cases, two sets of lines indicating the ferromagnetism and superparamagnetism of metallic iron nanoparticles in the composite and the appearance of a fraction of europium ions in the Eu3+ oxidation state in the matrix in addition to the main Eu2+ state have been observed in the respective spectra. In the europium case, the observation implies the possibility of a partial spin polarization of paramagnetic europium ions in Eu–Fe–O clusters and an increased specific magnetization of the composite

Аннотация: The magnetic susceptibility of Eu1- xYxVTa2O9(0 x 0.20) solid solutions was found to vary nonmonotonically with Y content. This result was interpreted as due to changes in the proportion of V4+ ions. Increasing the synthesis temperature from 1100 to 1300°C was shown to raise the proportion of V4+ in EuVTa2O9 from 9.87 to 12.03%. The highest light yield was observed at x~0.05, corresponding to the smallest V4+/V5+ ratio

Аннотация: Properties of the lanthanide–oxygen bonds in lanthanide niobates LnNb7O12 (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu) have been studied using the ab initio cluster Xα discrete variational method with two different basis sets of molecular orbitals. It has been found that the structural instability of lanthanides LnNb7O12 (Ln = Nd, Sm) observed in experiments is due to the combined effect of decrease in the stability of [LnO8]13–cluster and increase in quantum mechanical Ln–O repulsion when the minimum near neodymium (in the first model of the basis set of molecular orbitals) or praseodymium (in the second model of the basis set of molecular orbitals) atoms is passed

Аннотация: For the first time using pulsed electron evaporation were produced nanopowders of YTaO 4, LaTaO 4 X-ray contrast substances and phosphors Sr 2Y 8(SiO 4) 6O 2:Eu with oxyapatite structure with a specific surface to 184 m 2/g. Characteristics nanopowders were studied by methods of XRD, electronic microscopy of the high permission, electrongraphy, pulsed cathodeluminescence and photoluminescence. The analysis of a photoluminescence spectrum of phosphor has shown that the luminescence spectrum has changed in comparison with a micropowder of the same structure. The Eu 3+ luminescence spectrum containes smaller number of lines, than Eu 3+ spectrum of the micron size particles. Besides the shift of spectral lines was observed. There was also a reduction of intensity red and increase orange spectrum lines. After roasting on the air the nanophosphor spectrum of luminescence Eu 3+ has coincided with that one for microparticles. Thus, the effect of quantum restriction on position of power levels was observed, apparently. The size of particles of a phosphor has influenced its spectral structure. X-ray contrast properties nanopowders researches were tested in odontology, essential influence, especially in 3D geometry is established.

Аннотация: Путем нагревания прекурсоров состава Ti1 - xLnx(OCH2CH2O)2 - x/2, где Ln = Nd, Eu, Tb, Er (x = 0.025), Sm (0.005 x 0.025), в воздушной среде синтезированы квазиодномерные (1D) твердые растворы Ti1 - xLnxO2 - x/2 со структурой анатаза. Установлено, что данные твердые растворы проявляют фотокаталитическую активность в реакции окисления гидрохинона в водном растворе при облучении в УФ-диапазоне спектра. Исследованы спектры поглощения Ti1 - xLnxO2 - x/2 (Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Er) в УФ- и видимом диапазонах. Проведены расчеты электронного строения и спектров оптического поглощения анатаза, допированного неодимом, самарием и тербием.
