Аннотация: Thin cadmium sulfide films were prepared on a monocrystalline crystal silicon substrate by chemical deposition from aqueous solutions. Grazing incidence X-ray diffraction revealed that the cadmium sulfide films are comprised of nanocrystal particles, with 80% of the particles having a size of 5±1 nm. Some nanocrystals have a wurtzite structure, while others, a sphalerite one. The presence of cubic phase in the films is indicative of a nonequilibrium state of the nanocrystalline films. Thirty minutes after the onset of the formation of cadmium sulfide, the size and crystal structure of the constituent particles of the film become independent of the deposition time—only the film thickness increases. In addition, the initial stage of the formation of the cadmium sulfide film is accompanied by the deposition of cadmium hydroxide Cd(OH)2

Аннотация: The problem of localized superconductivity has motivated the preparation of Mg1 – xCuxO solid&&solutions with NaCl structure and 0.01<= x<= 0.20, as well as a study of the magnetization and magnetic susceptibility X in the 2–400 K temperature range and in magnetic fields of up to 5 T. The temperature dependence of X is described for all compositions by the Curie–Weiss law,X = C/(T –teta), where the constant C is close to the value calculated for each composition for m off = 1.7–1.9 m(beta), and (teta) is close to zero. For T < 30 K, X(T) deviates for all compositions toward lower X, which can be attributed to magnetic ordering of exchange-coupled clusters in the solid solution. At T ~ 320–330 K, an anomaly of a diamagnetic type, i.e., a decrease of X by 6–30% of&&its paramagnetic value, has been observed for all compositions against the background of the generally paramagnetic X(T). A discussion is presented of alternative reasons for this anomaly and of its possible connection with localized superconductivity

Аннотация: X-ray phase analysis has been used to examine the phase composition of the La2O3-V2O5-Nb2O5-Ta2O5 system in the subsolidus region up to 1200 C. It was found that solid solutions including the M-fergusonite and webwerite structures, as well as a limited series of LaTaO4-based solid solutions, are formed in the ternary La2O3-Nb2O5-Ta2O5 system. Solid solutions based on the LaNb2VO9 and LaTa2VO9 compounds have been detected in the La2O3-V2O5-Nb2O5-Ta2O5 system. These solid solutions have been examined by IR and radio spectroscopy. The number of defects in the vanadium sublattice is found to depend on the composition and sintering conditions. Elementary tetrahedrons have been found in the La2O3-V2O5-Nb2O5-Ta2O5 system

Аннотация: PbS particles down to 60 nm in size are prepared by chemical precipitation from aqueous solutions. An x-ray diffraction procedure is described for determining the particle size and atomic structure. The PbS particles precipitating in the solution bulk are shown to be monocrystalline. Reducing the particle size of PbS from 300 to 60 nm increases the rms atomic displacements (by 30%) and lattice strain (by 0.1%) in the particles. The lattice parameter of PbS is found for the first time to increase with decreasing particle size

Аннотация: Structural and electrochemical characteristics of substituted bismuth niobates Bi6.95Y0.05Nb2-y My O15.5±δ, where M = Fe or Zr, have been reported. The homogeneity ranges of solid solutions and crystallochemical parameters have been determined by means of X-ray powder diffraction and electron microscopy with X-ray microanalysis. The compatibility of niobates with an electrode material based on lanthanum manganite has been assessed. The electrical conductivity of sintered samples has been studied by impedance spectroscopy. It has been shown that the change of the dopant type does not lead to a noticeable change in conductivity.

Аннотация: Experimental data on colloidal chemical extraction of calcium sulfate formed in supersaturated solutions in fresh water are discussed. When the product of activities of calcium and sulfate ions is artificially exceeded, a nonequilibrium phase with the solubility close to that of CaSO4 is formed. This phase is extracted into a paraffin melt. Colloidal-chemical extraction of calcium sulfate with paraffin melt and sorption of microcomponents (single-, double-, and triple-charged cations) on calcium sulfate precipitates were studied. The precipitate has high affinity for cesium traces (Kd ~10(3) mg g1) in supersaturated solutions. Some cation species are not sorbed on the precipitate
